Congratulations! I’m delighted to welcome you to the UNC School of Media and Journalism. Once we've confirmed that you have completed 45 or more academic credit hours and have attended a New Student Orientation session, you’ll be promoted officially, effective May 15, 2019.
Here are two key steps you should take to start your MJ-school experience:
- ATTEND ORIENTATION
- New Student Orientation #1 will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. New Student Orientation #2 will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, from 1-2 p.m. Both sessions will be identical and students are required to attend only one session prior to admittance to the MJ-school. Learn about curriculum changes, get advice from a student panel and meet faculty and staff. We'll serve free pizza!
- If you haven't already, research which area of study you want to declare. At the close of your orientation session, you'll be expected to make a final selection. As an MJ-school major, you’ll be able to register for classes based on the major/sub-plan indicated in your ConnectCarolina record.
- MARK YOUR CALENDAR
- We'll be providing free professional headshots on the front steps of Carroll Hall on Friday, March 22, from 2-4 p.m. Undergraduate MEJO majors who have been accepted for Fall 2019 enrollment can sign up. Please dress accordingly.
- The link for the Doodle poll to reserve a headshot appointment will appear on screen after submitting the New Student Orientation RSVP form.
- SPOTS ARE LIMITED, SO DO NOT WAIT!
