Healthwatch Network Reveals Top Priorities for 2019

To mark the start of 2019, Healthwatch England has published their annual network priorities list – setting out the key health and care topics our local teams will be working on over the year ahead.

Last year Healthwatch engaged with over 400,000 people about their experiences of care.

Drawing on the wealth of qualitative data they collect, and through additional activities such as high-street surveys and townhall events, each local Healthwatch works with their community to set out a number of priorities for their area.

Healthwatch England has analysed 139 of these local plans and compiled a national list of the top issues.

Primary Care Services provided at TG Medical Centre in West Kirby

Following a recent procurement process, Marine Lake Medical Practice has been appointed as the new provider of primary care medical services at TG Medical Centre. NHS commissioners have been seeking a provider to continue delivering the services from 1st April 2019.

Many women are positive about their maternity care, but improvements still needed

Findings from the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) national survey of more than 17,600 women who gave birth in February last year show that many had a good experience, particularly in relation to interactions with staff, access to midwives and emotional support during pregnancy.
