Jazz BANG!

JAZZ BANG 2-5 MAY 2019, SYDNEY.

Hello! Wait a second... why are you getting this email? Because you subscribed to it, or you attended Jazz BANG, Jazz with Ramona, or the Little Big Weekend in the past.
We figure you like jazz, and you'd be interested in this news:
  1. Jazz BANG 2019 will be on the first weekend of May (2-5 May) in Sydney.
  2. Our guest teachers are Sylvia Sykes and Blake Thiesson (California, USA) and Jenny Shirar and Christian Frommelt (St Louis USA and now somewhere in Europe).
  3. Our live music coordinator is Andrew Dickeson, leader of the Blue Rhythm Band, the Jazz Family Band, and drummer to the stars.

WHAT'S IN THE WORKSHOPS?

Well, we have two of the best balboa teachers we could find (Sylvia and Blake), and they also know how to do lindy hop.
We also have two of the best St Louis shag dancers we could find (Jenny and Christian), and they also know how to do lindy hop.

We figured we'd get some of that good action.

WORKSHOP STREAMS AND STYLES

We haven't confirmed that yet.

So far we have a lot of interest from everyone in taking classes with all the teachers. Jenny and Christian also teach ragtime era dances (like the peabody), and they love solo jazz. Sylvia.... well, Sylvia can do everything. And Blake is the sort of person who LOVES all the dances.

What are you interested in? Do let us know with an email.

HISTORY AND SPECIAL THEMES

Jenny and Christian have worked closely with dancers and musicians in their home town of St Louis to dig up lots of good dance history. They're two of the best known St Louis shag dancers in the world, and they've been running the Neverore Jazz Ball event for years, showcasing local venues, musicians, and dancers with the Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl.
Sylvia has of course worked closely with the OG balboa, lindy hop, Carolina shag, and hustle dancers. Blake is pretty much up for anything.
All of them have lots of experience interviewing and working with old timers, and with figuring out how to pass on this knowledge to new dancers.

So we want to take advantage all their experience.
