Febrrrruary News at ASC

 Hello ASC Families,
ASC’s summer fees will be....$190.00 per week for full-time. Our school year is half way over and we are beginning to think about the summer. There will be a sign-up sheet that will be distributed to each family in March. The form is quite simple, but it is imperative that you sign-up for the summer by the deadline of April 1, 2019 to be sure your child/children is/are able to partake in the fun filled summer program. You will have more than two weeks to complete the form to be sure your child/children is/are signed up for the summer fun. LATE FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

ASC will give a 10% family discount on tuition if all of the children that attend ASC, come full-time per week. Part-time rates will be $45.00 a day. Part-Time schedules consist of the same designated days each week. A minimum of two days a week is necessary to attend during the summer/fall. Wednesdays will be field trips days.
ASC’s summer program…. PLEASE NOTE THESE IMPORTANT DATES…

  • ASC will be closed Wednesday, 6/12 through Friday, 6/14/2019 to get ready for the summer program that begins on Monday, 6/17/19.

  • Summer school will be held at the OHS. We will contract a bus just like last year. More details will arrive soon.

  • ASC’s last day of summer will be Friday, 8/23/2019. ASC WILL BE CLOSED Monday, 8/26 through Friday, 8/31/2018.

  • Our fall program and the first day of school will begin on Tuesday, 9/3.

End of the Year Statements
If you require an end of the year statement, please inform Jamie, Janelle or Lisa to print one off for you or email it to you. We do not like to keep that information in your ASC mailboxes.

Do You Check Your ASC Mailbox Regularly?
There are important news updates from our staff, receipts for tuition reimbursement, and other necessary notes to keep you abreast of what will take place in your child’s group. There is a two drawer file cabinet outside of our ASC office that has individual folders for each family. Please check your ASC mailboxes regularly, so that you are aware of what we will be doing, thank you!

Outside Gear
We ask that all children/youth have outside gear to enjoy the playground and walking field trips. We have the same rule as OSD. All children need appropriate outside winter gear to put on to play in the snow. If your child does not have the necessary items such as a hat, mittens, snow pants and a coat, they must stay on the black top.

ASC is Peanut-Nut Free: ASC has some children that have some severe peanut and/or tree nut allergies. Children with these allergies need to avoid all food containing peanuts, peanut flour, peanut oil (also known as Arachis oil), nut oil and/or tree nuts. Tree nuts include, but are not limited to, almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios and walnuts. It is important that there is strict avoidance to this food in order to prevent a life-threatening allergic reaction. We are asking for your help in providing a safe before and after school environment for every child. To reduce the risk of exposure, ASC will be peanut/tree nut free. Please adhere to this policy especially on non-school days. If your child has a sandwich or anything that may look like peanut butter, we will ask you to label it stating that it is peanut free.  We want to be sure everyone is safe. We ask that you try (and hopefully like the alternative that ASC uses) WOW butter or soy butter instead of packing peanut butter. This way again we can ensure the safety of all.  Please refer to the attached “Peanut/Tree Nut Free” snack list. Please keep in mind that ingredients often change and it is extremely important to read labels at the time of purchase.

Dates to Remember

Friday, 2/18/19: Full Day: We will go to Timber Ridge Lodge in Lake Geneva. This is a water park that has many fun items for our children to enjoy. Check out the website at https://www.timberridgelodge.com/wisconsin-waterpark/moose-mountain-falls. We will depart at 8:15 and return by 5:00. The fee for the trip will be $35.00 that will include lunch of cheese pizza, chips and a drink. Please be sure to have your child wear their purple ASC t-shirt and swim suit and bring along a towel.  If your child does not like this lunch you will need to bring a cold lunch in a brown paper bag. They do not allow carry-ins, so we need to follow their rules. We will not have the choice to stay behind from this trip, sorry!

Monday, 2/18/2019, Full Day: We will have a full day on Monday, 2/18. ASC will be open from 7:00-5:45. No field trip is planned for this day. Please be sure to pack your child a cold lunch, drink and outside gear. The fee for the full day is $20.00 per child.

3/4/2019: ASC Summer sign-up sheets will be distributed by email and will be out at your child's table for enrollment for summer at ASC. If you have younger children that will be 5 by the first day of summer, please place them on our list to ensure we know they will come for the summer session. We cannot take children until they turn 5 years of age into our program. The forms need to be completed and turned into the ASC office by 4/1/2109. No exceptions will be granted.

**Spring Break will be: 3/25/19-3/29/2018**
When school is not in session, all ASC children and youths that have signed up for these full days will be at ASC/NKE. We are open from 7:00-5:45 each day. On all non-school days, each child/youth will need a cold lunch and drink and outside gear. Some groups will go on walking trips or have special activities planned… please be sure your child/youth has received a weekly/monthly calendar from their Teacher(s) to keep you and your family abreast of what will be taking place in  your child’s/youth’s group.

  • ASC open for full days on Monday, 3/25-3/29/2018. All children will need a cold lunch and drink each full day. Our sign-up sheet will go out soon.

  • On Wednesday, 3/27/19, we will go to Discovery Museum in Milwaukee. We will depart at 8:30 and return by 5:00. The fee will be $25.00 per person.

  • ASC WILL BE CLOSED IN OBSERVANCE OF GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2019.
School In-Service/Full Days at ASC
In addition to the regular after school care, the After School Clubs, Inc. is open on In-Service, Conference, and School Vacation Days for optional full day care.  All ASC programs meet in the NKE cafeteria.  These full days will include special themes and field trips whenever possible.  There is an additional charge  of  $20.00 per day for care on these scheduled no school days.  Children need to be signed up for these days in advance.  Children that are not signed up by the deadline will incur an extra $10.00 late sign-up fee.  Any schedule change after the deadline will be charged regular tuition and add-on fees. If your child/youth was scheduled for any full day(s) and or field trip(s) and your child/youth is unable to attend for any reason, families are still obligated to pay the additional fees.
Children will need to bring a cold lunch and drink on these days.  If we need to make your child a lunch you may incur a lunch fee of $5.00.

Parents must inform Directors if their child will stay behind by the deadline for each full day to ensure proper staffing is available. We ask that you ask your child/youth if they want to attend the trip or not because once the deadline is over we do not change what the sign-up sheet states. This causes too much confusion for our children, staff and the facility we will attend for the trip.  If a field trip changes due to weather, parents may call the office to find out the alternate location.

Swim Suit Rental
If your child utilizes the Oregon Pool for gym class, the swimsuits and towels the children have at the pool cannot be used for ASC’s swim day. Children can either rent a suit or bring another suit and towel. The Oregon Pool washes the suits and towels after each gym class, but the children are unable to use them until their next gym class. ASC will NOT charge your family for a suit rental fee if the suit and towel are at the pool for their gym class. Please note that if your child forgets their suit and towel at home, they can rent from the Oregon Pool a suit and towel for $3.00.We will bill you this fee on your account.

Help Support ASC with Bill’s Receipts

Please help us raise funds for our June Venden Scholarship fund. It is very easy… When you shop at Bill’s Food Store our non-profit organization gets paid for you supporting and shopping at our local Bill’s grocery store. All you need to do is save your receipt and drop it off to us at ASC.  We have a fish bowl marked Bill’s Receipts that you can drop off your receipts to assist ASC on our back table in our ASC office. Thank you for your assistance in raising funds for our families we serve at ASC.

Inclement Weather Days
*Breakfast Club
If school is delayed, there will not be Breakfast Club.
If school is canceled, there will not be Breakfast Club.
*After School Clubs
