Join us for WORSHIP
Be A Little Kinder Everyday!

In the season of Epiphany, we are going to practice being little Christs for the sake of the world. Last Sunday you received an index card. If you were not here, just use any card you have at home.
On one side of the card write things you’d like to do to connect with other members of LOTM. So, if you are over say 50, make an effort to get to know someone under 50 (or pick a different age number), invite a member you have not seen in church in a while to attend with you, invite a family that you don't know very well  to dinner. Be creative and think outside the box.

On the other side of the card write acts of kindness directed toward people outside of the LOTM community. Or combine outside and inside and invite an non-church friend to attend a service at LOTM with you. Please hang onto your cards and we will collect them at the end of next month and compile a list of all the random acts of kindness we do as a church. We will use them during Lent for inspiration. So, have fun being kind to all people. It may become a habit!

New Sound System and Carpeting coming the end of February!

LOTM Website
Please, click once a day on our website link: http://lordofthemountains.org. The more "clicks" are there, the higher our position on Google analytics. Which means that when a total stranger is looking for a church and is using Google search for Lutheran churches in the area, our church website will show up first. Whether you read something or not on our website is irrelevant. You just need to open the web page once (or more times) a day. THANK YOU! pastor

Paying Your Pledge With Cash
If you are paying your pledge with cash, we need to acknowledge the source of the cash. Please put cash in a pledge envelope, located on the name tag table, and put your name on it and place in the offering plate. Thank you so much for all gifts on money, time, and talent to LOTM.

In addition, 2018 contribution statements are available in the narthex. Statements will be mailed out of area and to season members and friends.

Thank you to all who stayed for the Annual Congregational Meeting.

Dennis Boyd for his many years of leadership with LOTM''s Charitable Endowment.

Many thanks to Brian Hanly and William David whose exceptional performance raised over $1500 for our Day Services Program. We are so grateful that these talented musicians chose to show their support of this ministry again this year. The audience appreciated the inspiring music and responded generously. Thank you to all who participated!

DISCIPLE OF THE MONTH - FEROL MENZAL
Ferol arrived in Summit County eight years ago from Iowa.  Having worked at two Lutheran colleges, she was immediately drawn to Lord of the Mountains and its wonderful Welcome Statement. We are so fortunate she found us!

Ferol is certainly deserving of this recognition for her leadership as president of the Church Council.  During two very challenging years, her leadership returned us to an energetic church. The hours
and talents she brought to the task were exceptional. However, this recognition is for her continual giving this year to major projects at the church.

She assumed leadership, along with Nancy Spears, in developing the revised LOTM website.  From that involvement, she discovered she loved taking LOTM photos for the new website! One can always count on Ferol to see a project from beginning to end.

Her initiative led to our new logo and the updating of our computer system in the church office. Ferol was instrumental in the development of the Legacy Gift Fund.  As if that was not enough, she is a member of the Altar Guild, the Education Team, and the Nominating Committee.  She coordinates the nursery team and brought her energy to revitalize the nursery room.

Ferol does not limit her volunteer time to LOTM.  She is a Reading Buddy in two kindergarten classes and leads a third grade book club. She loves to read herself and participates in several books clubs.  She teaches water aerobics at the Breck Recreation Center.  Her husband and her usher for Bravo Vail, so they can enjoy amazing classical music, another love of Ferol’s. In the summer, you can find her cycling and working in her flower garden and snowshoeing and a little skiing in the winter.  Ferol and her husband love to travel and include hiking and cycling in many of those trips.  As much as possible, she takes trips to the Front Range to see and play with her two grandchildren.

Ferol is an example for us all of how to give of oneself to do God’s Work even though being immersed in a busy life.
