SCENE AND HEARD

 We will be presenting our annual Scene and Heard series in St. John's starting February 22nd with programming running until the end of March.

Your sneak peek includes our previously announced Oscar-nominated Animated Shorts as well as A Night with Baroness von Sketch featuring Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne and Jordan Canning. 

Special film screenings of Firecrackers with Jasmin Mozafarri and An Audience of Chairs with Deanne Foley.

APPLY TO TALENT TO WATCH

Want to make your first feature film or web series? Apply to SJIWFF to be nominated!

The deadline to submit is this Friday, February 1st.

All application requirements in the Telefilm Canada Guidelines must be met in order to submit. We also require that all projects meet our mandate by having the writer and/or director identify as female, and the Director must have participated in our Film Industry Forum training program. 

Please note that this isn't restricted to applicants in Newfoundland & Labrador only.

WAVE AWARDS - DEADLINE EXTENDED

Nominate east-coast women in the film industry for a WAVE Award!

Presented by WIFT-Atlantic, the goal of the WAVE Awards is to acknowledge remarkable individuals, who identify as women, working in film, television, or screen-based media.

Deadline to nominate someone has been extended to midnight on January 31st. Read full details here. 

SJIWFF AT BERLINALE

Presented by Berlinalethe European Film Market is one of the top three meeting places of the international film and media industries. 

Executive Director Jenn Brown will be attending on behalf of the St. John's International Women's Film Festival and is available for meetings between February 7-12.

Reach out to share your films and to learn more about our upcoming 30th Festival and filmmaking in Newfoundland & Labrador.
