Volunteer to help

CONTRIBUTE  to the only fundraiser held by the PTSA. The funds raised support our operating budget which helps to support:
  • Teacher and staff appreciation events and gestures throughout the school year; we have over 200 staff members!
  • Website, Paypal & Weekly Maroon Update Emails
  • Parent & Student Educational Programming
Additionally, the PTSA (greatly) supplements the school's efforts in the following areas:
  • Student needs NOT paid by AISD (i.e. emergency needs as they arise and we are notified by counselors)
  • Library improvements
  • Academy model planning & training
  • Campus improvement initiatives
  • College & Career Center
  • Senior Class activities, Dedication Day & Homecoming
  • Grounds maintenance & improvements
The mission of the PTSA is not to raise money. Instead, it is to support our community of students, teachers and families. Sometimes, we need to raise funds in order to achieve these goals!

Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is an hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

Every summer UT Austin sponsors a Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program for high school graduates who will be attending a senior college beginning with the fall semester, and who have applied to UT Austin (preference given to students attending UT Austin, and whose intended majors are electrical, mechanical and aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, and computer science).

This program, which began in 1982, involves summer employment at Applied Research Laboratories in northwest Austin and provides a "hands-on" introduction to research and development.  This is an amazing summer program for graduating seniors, and it gives them the opportunity to earn a competitive salary ($15.44 an hour) for the 12 week program.  This prestigious group of students also write reports that are published and widely distributed at the end of their summer term.  Please check the site for additional information regarding the program:

The application deadline for this program is March 15th, 2019.
