Developer Camp — World's Best Hackathon

Friday to Sunday from February 1-3, 2019

Square, Getaround, Temple Run, OAuth, TestFlight, Push IO, and Zūm — each of these have foundations at Developer Camp over the past twelve years.

This event is a combination of community support, cooperation, and an idea contest that lasts 50 hours from opening doors to closing ceremony. We feature inspiring keynotes from startup founders Janice Fraser and Ritu Narayan.

Community leaders will deliver educational sessions on startups and business, as well as technical topics such as decentralization, cross-platform authoring, GitHub, blockchain, and dApp test and development.

Apple, Oracle, Google, Amazon, Disney, Adobe, and Facebook have bought companies that got an early start at Developer Camp. Yours could be next.

It is time to celebrate our inclusive, diverse, and equal-opportunity society with an event focused on foundational technologies: machine learning, augmented reality, and blockchain.
  • Hundreds of developers, designers, testers, and entrepreneurs
  • NEW VENUE: Draper University's Hero City in San Mateo, CA
  • 5pm to midnight Friday, 9am to midnight Saturday, 9am to 7pm Sunday

Bring a team or find a team.

48 hours straight to make something great.

Join a team of mentors and camp counselors for the world's most original hackathon. Team up with an expert or a new friend to build the project of your dreams. Learn about open source from our community partner ForkedBlock.
  • Our staff will help to connect you with team members that can compliment your skill set, fill out your team, or just help you with a sticky problem.
  • Our event features educational sessions on Node.js, Python, Solidity, React, IPFS, Truffle, and uPort for development on the blockchain.

Our sponsors bring huge prizes this year.

  • TODA challenges you to build Ethereum On TODA. Build apps same way you have built on Ethereum, but benefit from additional elements done by design: scalability, security (fully decentralized), confidentiality, and interoperability without anyone in the middle. Anyone pursuing this challenge will be eligible for special incentives from TODA.
  • FLUTTER is an SDK from Google that allows you to build beautiful native apps on iOS and Android from a single codebase. The Flutter team will be on hand to judge the best apps in their category, and award prizes to the whole team worth over a thousand dollars.
  • KINTONE challenges you to build scaleable Web apps with no coding required. Consume a variety of data sources, or create your own extension to the Kintone platform for thousands of dollars worth of spendable love.
  • KRYPTONIC invites you to bring a project in progress, or a team ready to go, and open source a portion of your project for extra credit in the showcase. The team will be looking for applications of decentralized and blockchain concepts—with the winners given the chance to pitch Kryptonic for funding and ongoing support.
