Fusion Family News
Neil Peppler (son of Mark and Ronnene Peppler) is in Canada jersey and with him President Barb Busse of Britannia-Youngstown Community League.
What do we do when we live in Alberta and it's winter and the temperature is far below 0 degrees celsius for many days in a row?  You head outside to play and enjoy the cool, crisp, clean air.

These photos are from Britannia / Youngstown Community League in Edmonton, where Fusion Canada was very active from 2006 to 2011.  In 2008 Fusion and a number of other partners worked together to re-establish the community skating rink after a 15-year absence.  The rink is going stronger than ever, and Fusion is still part of the story!

Neil Peppler was a key member of our youth work team in West Edmonton for many years, and has been part of the story of the rink from the very beginning.  He spends many hours each week at the rink, working with the youth and families and creating a welcoming, safe atmosphere for all to enjoy.  Neil carries on the story of Fusion West Edmonton and the Britannia Youngstown Rink!!

We would love to hear your stories & adventures as well so drop us a note at edmonton@fusioncanada.ca. We would love to share them with our readers too. Feel free to send us inspiring and encouraging notes and we will print them in the next newsletter!

Trip to UKRAINE 2015

In 2014 Fusion Canada hosted a gathering of Fusion International leaders from around the world.  We were introduced to Vadym Kulynchenko, who has a passion for bringing the hope of the gospel to his country, Ukraine.  While with us, Vadym took part in Fusion's Foundations course and he wanted to find a way to bring it to Ukraine.

In June, 2015 three members of the Fusion Canada team (Joce, Paul and TJ) joined other Fusion International leaders in putting on the Foundations course in Kamenets-Podulskyi, Ukraine.  What an amazing experience full of challenges.  For example, all of the trainers spoke English while most of the participants did not.  So Vadym and another person took turns interpreting every word. We met many courageous Ukrainians who carry a deep love for their country and yearn to see the glory of God revealed there.  The course participants hosted a festival in the heart of Kamanets-Podulskyi.  The power for the entire area went down!  So we ran a festival with no sound system or music.  We found the team member with the loudest voice and away we went!  The festival was a huge success!

One highlight of the trip was that Vadym took the three Canadians to see a kids camp that he and his team were developing called Camp Karabin.  One goal of the camp is to care for kids and families who became refugees due to the conflict with Russia in eastern Ukraine.  At that time some of the structures were still being erected, but we could clearly see the dream unfolding.  We were moved by the amazing heart and commitment of Vadym and his team.  (http://www.ourlegacyus.org/about-us/whatwedo/camp/)

ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Our good & dear friend, Eric Kregel,
will be ordained as an Anglican priest
Friday, February 1 @ 7pm at
All Saint's Anglican Cathedral
in Edmonton.

It has been our pleasure to journey with Eric, his wife Catherine and their two fabulous girls, Carys and Ashlyn, for about 10 years.
We first met the Kregels when Eric was the pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in High Prairie, Alberta.  He then received a call to Knox Evangelical Free Church in Edmonton, and the four of them packed up and made the big move.  Then Eric felt the nudge to become an Anglican priest.  He has done it!  The Fusion Canada team has had the privilege of walking with the Kregel family every step of the way!

Sincerest Congratulations, Eric!  We are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for the four of you in the future!
