Can you believe we are almost a month into 2019?

It’s going to be another busy year for The Meat Room team, with some exciting plans in the works. While we can’t let the cat out of the bag on some of these plans just yet, stay tuned for the next newsletter and keep your eye on our Facebook page. We’ll be announcing more details soon.

In the meanwhile, why not check out the latest on some of the great markets and festivals you can catch us at over the next couple of months?  
 
Upcoming Farmers’ Markets

Summer is the best time to be out and enjoying the warmth and sunshine, and what better excuse than to visit one of Victoria’s Farmer Markets!
 
The Meat Room has been attending the following markets on a regular basis – and we love seeing your friendly faces each month.
 
To get your hands on some of our tasty treats, such as our small batch salami, join us at the following Farmers’ markets:

Sausage Making Classes in 2019
 
Our ever-popular Sausage Making Classes are currently sold out but don’t worry, we will have new dates for you soon.

Our sausage making classes provide you with everything you need to know and all the techniques to get you making your own sausages like a pro!
 
Not only will you learn everything you need to know to start making your own sausages at home, but you will also enjoy a yummy morning tea and freshly-cooked wood-fired pizza for lunch. AND it doesn’t stop there! You will also take home 4kgs of delicious, preservative free, free-range pork sausages to enjoy.
 
Classes run from 9am – 1pm.
Cost: $200 per person, with morning tea & lunch included.
 
If you or someone you know are keen to learn a new skill in 2019, and have an enjoyable day out, make sure you keep an eye out for our new class dates.

Mirboo North Italian Festa
Sunday February 10

The Mirboo North Italian Festa this February is definitely one for the diaries – enjoy a day of free entertainment for the whole family and celebrate all things Italian.
 
Along with singing, dancing and music, there will be comedy shows, cooking demonstrations and competitions. Explore the market stalls, try out the food stalls and drinks terrace, and if that wasn’t enough, there will be grape stomping. This is a day for the kids too, with a jumping castle, inflatable slide, and face painting all guaranteed to keep the kids amused.
 
The Meat Room will be demonstrating Salami Making on the day (time to be confirmed).

The Seymour Alternative Farming Expo
Friday February 15 ~ Sunday February 17
 
Come and check us out at the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo. We’ll be there holding a Salami Making Demonstration on Sunday February 17 from 12-12:45 pm.
 
There’ll also be plenty of animals, shopping, and eating, not to mention the latest technology, practices and trends in small and backyard farming, with over 450 exhibitors, to keep the whole family happy.
 
Tickets to the Expo can be purchased online, or at the gate on the day. You’ll find all the details you need on the official Seymour Alternative Farming Expo website.

 
Prosecco Festival - Northcote town hall
Saturday February 23

 
Fan of Prosecco? Then this is an event not to be missed!
 
Dedicated to Prosecco, the festival showcases some of the best Prosecco available in Australia and provides you with the opportunity to meet the growers, winemakers and importers and of course indulge in some tastings and wine matching throughout the day.
 
Making the day even more exciting for us, is the launch of our delicious Prosecco Salami at the Festival.
 
Held at the Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre. This is a ticketed event, and for Adults only. 2 session times are available: 11am-3pm and 4pm-8pm

Lost Trades Fair, Kyneton
Saturday March 9 & Sunday March 10
 
This is a massive event, and if you enjoy traditional trades, you should lock in the dates now. An artisan lead event in which 100 artisans and traditional tradespeople share their skills through demonstrations of these ‘lost trades’.

Make sure you catch our Salami Demonstrations which will be occurring throughout the weekend! We will also be selling Salami across the weekend.
                                                        
Tickets are on sale now - Adult Entry: $15 ONLINE until midnight 28/02/19. Some tickets may be available at the gate on the day, but to be safe book online! For tickets and more information, head over to the Lost Trades website
 

Smoke, Fire, Water event at Spring Hill (Lancemore)
Sunday March 17th

Part of the line-up of the Melbourne Wine & Food Festival, the Smoke, Fire, Water event at Spring Hill is a must see!
 
The gorgeous Spring Hill Estate located in the Macedon Ranges will be hosting the event. The Meat Room will be performing some sausage making demonstrations, and also providing our delicious sausages for purchase on the day.
 
There’ll be plenty of other delectable treats for you to try, such as freshly caught rainbow trout, seasonal sides & condiments and, if sprits are your thing, perhaps partake in some whiskey and gin tasting.

Fromage a Trois Festival Werribee Mansion
Sunday March 24

The Werribee Park Mansion hosts The Fromage a Trois Cheese Festival this March with the best in artisan cheese and local produce.
 
Take some time out to meet the makers, taste the produce and enjoy the live music. Why not pull out your picnic blanket and indulge in some handcrafted wine, beer, cider or spirits while snacking on local produce, and enjoying the stunning grounds of the mansion.
 
First Release Tickets are on sale for $37 plus booking fee for adults – but are limited – so don’t leave it too long to secure your spots!
