A Unique Cafe Night at The Oasis

We are so thankful for the special chances we have to share Jesus with refugees at The Oasis. Last Wednesday, we were happy to see several Iranian Christians attend our Bible lesson. There were also two new refugees, one from Georgia and one from Guinea (West Africa). The guy from Guinea only knows French, so we showed him the "Jesus Film" in French. Afterwards he stayed and read the Bible for almost an hour! Then, on our Thursday Cafe Night, all of those guests returned, along with two guys from Iraq that we met on the sidewalk and invited in. The guy from Georgia watched The Jesus Film in Russian, and the guys from Iraq watched it in Kurdish! They also accepted the book of John in Kurdish, and the guy from Georgia took the New Testament in Russian and a couple of good tracts in Georgian. Meanwhile, the group of Iranian Christians had a wonderful evening of worship and prayer in our upstairs room, with one Farsi worship song after another via YouTube! Praise the Lord. He blessed us all with a wonderful evening. Pray that He will "water the seeds that were planted" and please also pray He brings us an Arabic translator (we have a very good Farsi translator, but in Arabic we just have two men in Vienna that we sometimes call and they translate for us over the phone).

This weekend, our staff will be in Serbia

This weekend, myself and six other Oasis staff members will be travelling by car through Hungary and into Serbia, to visit and help Tibor in his refugee ministry at the border there. I think it will be an intense weekend. We will get to help with his soup kitchen on Saturday, and then we will reach out to some of the homeless refugees in abandoned buildings. Where he lives, near Subotica, the Serbian government provides housing for the women and children, but not for the men. So, about 100 men are homeless, even through the winter. It is their hope to get past that border and into the EU, but the borders are very difficult to cross. Tibor is reaching out to them very often, in a humanitarian way and equally as much with the Gospel, and we very much look forward to joining him this weekend. It is sure to be very eye-opening for us all, as for most of us this will be the first time that we get to connect with refugees along the way of their difficult journey.
Then, on Monday, we will be driving to Sarajevo, in Bosnia, for the 5-day "Refugee Round Table" Conference, where about 200 ministry workers in refugee work around Europe will be gathered. There will be teachings and many chances to interact with each other.
Please pray for our weekend outreach and then the conference!  Also pray for Michi, as she will be at home with the kids all week while I am gone.
Thank you so much for your support in prayer and in every way, Ken
