Young Belair-Edison Resident is Thriving Entrepreneur

Calling an 11-year old an entrepreneur might seem like a bit of a stretch, but Jamaria Crump is the real deal. She’s the owner, baker, and visionary behind LemonTopia, and she’s taking the idea of a lemonade stand to a whole new level.

“People assume that Mommy is doing all the work,” says Jasmine Hall, Jamaria’s mother and business manager. “That’s just not true. Jamaria is very independent. I’m also not a baker.”   Read More.

We have been honored to have Johnette Richardson as part of the BENI team for the last 15 years, 11 as the Executive Director. In that time both the organization and neighborhood have grown tremendously – from Main Street revitalization and home ownership attraction, to block beautification and capital-project art installations.​

Erdman Animal Hospital Grows with the Community


For more than 60 years, Erdman Animal Hospital has been an important thread in the fabric of the Belair-Edison community. Dr. Lance Keil, who took over his father’s business in 1987, says “My father wanted to open his practice in a neighborhood because he always felt that homeowners tend to be better neighbors.”​ Dr. Keil has grown it to the point where he now owns all three rowhomes the animal hospital occupies.​   Read More.
