SINGLE DAYS SICK LEAVE

From 29 January 2019, a staff member who has been absent from work due to Personal Illness or Personal Injury for one day (or less) is not required to complete a PS4 Application for Leave.

NOTE:

  • A PS4 continues to be required in all other circumstances.

  • Existing local procedures in regard to notifying the school of an absence remain unchanged.

ATTENTION PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS!
#DidYouKnow that from 1 January 2019, thanks to the NSW Government, each school-aged child is eligible for a $100 #CreativeKids rebate to help subsidies the cost of creative & cultural activities - including music lessons, language lessons, drama and theatre classes, and even coding classes!!
 

The Creative Kids program is in ADDITION to the #ActiveKids rebate, available for each school enrolled child in the state, to help cover the cost of sports and active recreation fees!

WARRAYMALAYA CATHOLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER RETREAT

The 2019 Warraymalaya Catholic Schools Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Retreat will be held at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence, George Street, Redfern Tuesday 9th April to Friday 12th April 2019.

 

This Retreat is open to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student in a Catholic Secondary school in the Armidale Diocese who are in years 8 - 12.

ALL ONLINE TRAINING

All Online Training including:

SALT; Anaphylaxis;   etc are now accessed through a new portal : Staff Learning System (SLS)

 

Previous links to Training Room  & SALT are no longer to be used. All training is to be accessed through Staff Learning System (SLS).

 

All Staff should now have received an email inviting them to complete their  e Learning.

 

Staff members will receive further notifications and reminders for all of their training. Records of  external training can be uploaded by you. You can print certificates of completion and take your learning profile with you if you move.

 

All access issues regarding this new portal are to be directed to your School Principal.

NAPLAN ONLINE

The mandatory practice test is to take place between 25th March - 5th April.

All new principals and Naplan Coordinators MUST attend face to face training. Refresher online modules are required for ALL previously trained staff. Please refer to the CSO Naplan site for updates and training information.

SPEAKING 4 THE PLANET

REGISTER NOW - Speaking for the Planet

Armidale Regional Council, the Armidale Catholic Schools Office and 4Sustainability Education are once again holding a Speaking 4 the Planet competition to celebrate World Environment Day.  This is an invitation to participate. The Speaking 4 the Planet competition will be held on Thursday 20 June 2019 in the Council Chambers in Armidale. The event is free for schools and runs from 9.00 – 2.30.

The 2019 competition will be comprised of 5 categories:

  • Public speaking – prepared and impromptu (one student per school for each category)

  • Drama – impromptu (one group per school of up to 5 students)

  • Art – prepared art. Maximum 2 entries per school.

  • Writing – this is a new category! It will be impromptu and students will be asked to write a 30 word piece (fiction or non fiction)

BIG WRITE & VCOP

Thanks to all the participating schools who have attended to or Big Write PD over the past several weeks.

 

Please be advised that our Cold Write schedule for the year begins with a Baseline  Cold write - Recount - Summertime.

The task will be shared with all this week and can be accessed via our Big Write Team Drive.

YOUR NESA DETAILS
It is a staff members responsibility to check annually, and update if required, your NESA Account details including: - your correct name, current WWCC clearance and expiry date, current email address (personal or work) and mobile phone number. You can check and update your details under ‘Profile’ in your NESA Account.

 

You also need to check your Employment History is correct, particularly if you have changed schools recently or changed from part time or casual to full time or visa a versa. Your Principal and the Armidale Catholic Schools Office (TAA) will then be able to process proficient teacher applications, maintenance of proficiency and add NESA registered PD that has been registered by the CSO.

YOUR NESA FEES

You can find a history of your NESA invoices and their status under either the Conditional, Provisional or Proficient Teacher tab on the left hand side of the screen in your NESA account. (NESA are slowly updating the status of invoices that have been paid in the last two months.)

NESA expects to send, by post, receipts in February to all those who have paid their fees in the last two months.
