Gen Re will launch the NOW app, powered by Lapetus technology
Giving insurance applicants a faster and friendlier purchasing experience is the key objective behind Gen Re’s new NOW app, which uses our selfie-based JANUS platformto simplify the application process.
Within the app, customers can apply for one of three insurance products; standard whole life, hospital cash and accidental death.
When they upload a selfie, JANUS instantly returns their Age, Sex, and BMI estimates, which are then used as pre-sets in the process, significantly reducing the time required to finalize the application.
Gen Re is testing the NOW app in seven languages to determine the future viability of a simple, on-boarding process followed by immediate policy issue as well as a concurrent parallel underwriting process to fine-tune risk assessment.
