Who's IFSA Membership Councilor

George Dennison

Hello IFSA world!

I’m George Dennison from the United Kingdom. I’m currently on exchange at the University of British Columbia for this IFSA year, then I will return to Bangor University in North Wales to finish my master’s in forestry.

To get to know me better some of my hobbies involve running, fishing, woodworking and carving, and generally trying to outside as long as possible. I use coffee to survive because I love getting up early in the morning, especially when I can get out into the forest.

Before being elected as one of the councillors this year I was the Northern European Regional Representative which was the perfect way to become completely engulfed by the IFSA family. Being the president of my LC in Bangor for two years, and during my term as RR, I’ve been able to have a detailed and specific look at how our LC’s function and what officials can do to help you all get the best from the IFSA world.

My plans and projects this year are designed to increase IFSA’s membership base and ensure all our members understand and take advantage of the opportunities IFSA provides. So how do I plan on doing this?

  • Training RR’s so they can help each region run smoothly and develop it from the ground up.

  • Work closely with the council team to develop your opportunities and aid them with their work.

  • Improve communication between regions, individuals and officials within IFSA.

You should all feel comfortable talking with us all as officials, suggesting ideas or projects and becoming a commissioner. It’s a great way to develop personally, professionally and make some great friends who cover the globe. I want to be as social as possible, don’t be afraid to send me a message and lets all work together to create amazing IFSA outputs.

I really do look forward to meeting you all soon,

Georgie.

Fun Facts

'I love playing rugby, growing up all I wanted to do was play professionally. I reached the standard of playing for the Scottish Exiles youth team. I still dabble with playing but forestry has taken over my world.'
