The Society Jazz Orchestra Moves to Thursday
We are so excited to announce that the Society Jazz Orchestra, playing the music and compositions of the Late Ed Moss, is now going to be one Thursday a Month.  Check your schedules to see which Thursday.  If you haven't gotten a chance to see this awesome 8 - Piece Big Band (big for us), then you should definitely plan to catch their show tonight!  All the talent in the room - Pat Kelly, Eric Lechliter, Josh Kline, Lou Lausche, Phil Hilger, Clarence Pawn, Todd Remy, Gene Marquis - plus the music itself - come together to make this one of the most magical shows that one can see at the Point.  They play this Thursday, Jan. 31st, from 8:30pm to 11pm, and again on February 28th with very SPECIAL guest, Barry Ries on Trumpet!

The Fantabulous Barry Ries Jazzathon Weekend!


Barry Ries is an amazing musician that played with Ed Moss for many years then went on to play, and tour, with Jazz Greats such as Gerry Mulligan, Horace Silver, Lionel Hampton, and others.  His credentials are superb, but that isn't why you should come see him as many days of this weekend as possible.  You should come because he will blow you away!  This man is all music and his approach is so unique, you can't help getting caught up in his charms!  He plays the drums as adeptly as he plays the trumpet and sometimes plays them at the same time!  If you love jazz - if you are a musician - you owe it to yourself to see him play.

February  Music Highlights

We have some great entertainment this month at the Point. 
On Saturday, Feb. 1st, from Columbus, and joining us for the first time, we have the Zakk Jones Trio.  Highly recommended by our local friend, Brandon Coleman, this trio find new ways to interpret and bend many genres to the jazz tradition.  This show promises to be fun and interesting.  We are intrigued to see what Zakk Jones has to offer.

On Friday, Feb. 15th, with their first show at our venue, The Eric Wurzelbacher Trio brings the Saxophone front and center in our little listening room. 

On Thursday, Feb. 21st, we are very excited to debut our Pat Kelly Solo Night!  Pat will bring his love of the music and playfulness to the stage - both Singing and playing the Piano!  We love Pat's singing and if you've not gotten to hear him, stop by for the fun!

And on Saturday, Feb. 23rd, we have one of new favorites here at the Point - The Erwin Stuckey Trio!  We are big fans of the Vibes here and Erwin doesn't disappoint, so plan to come out for a wonderful Saturday with great vibes!
