The two largest organisations that distribute money raised for ‘good causes’ through the sale of National Lottery tickets have unveiled refreshed brands that make a clearer link between playing the National Lottery and the good causes that benefit.

The Big Lottery Fund, the UK’s largest community funder, has changed its name to The National Lottery Community Fund.. They are joined by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which will be known now as The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Both organisations have also unveiled refreshed brand identities that incorporate The National Lottery’s highly recognisable crossed-fingers.

Unfortunately, owing to a decision by Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group the funding for the VSPA service will cease and therefore the VSPA North & Erewash service for the North Derbyshire Dales will close with effect from March 31st 2019.

The VSPA service for the North Derbyshire Dales medical practices will therefore not be accepting any new referrals or enquiries from Friday 15th February.

We will continue to support our existing clients until 31-3-18, and all current clients have been sent a letter advising them of the date of the end of the service.

Existing VSPA clients will also be advised that they can contact Derbyshire Dales CVS after 31-3-19 if they have an urgent need for signposting to a local service.

We would like to thank all DDCVS groups who have provided support to VSPA clients during the life of the service.

DDCVS is a partner in a new initiative in the Dales which it is hoped will ensure that particularly vulnerable people, and people with complex needs will get the support and services they need.

The Dales Community Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting (MDT) is a multi-agency meeting that will provide an opportunity to collaborate on a ‘Community Caseload’, to share information and develop joint strategies to manage the needs of the frailest residents in the Dales. DDCVS’s role in this is to signpost people to services available in the voluntary and community sector.

The MDT is a development from the Derbyshire Dales Place Alliance. ‘Place’ involves commissioners, community services providers, local authorities, primary care, the voluntary and community sector, and the public working together to meet the needs of local people. For more information about Place go to https://joinedupcarederbyshire.co.uk/our ...

Neil Moulden, Chief Executive of Derbyshire Dales CVS said: ‘Trustees play a vital role in the work of any charity, and at DDCVS we have some excellent trustees who have really supported the development and success of the Charity’s work. We now have an opportunity to recruit additional trustees and we are keen to hear from anyone who would like to help us to support voluntary action in the Derbyshire Dales.’

He went on to say: ‘You do not require any particular qualifications to be a trustee, but some experience of managing organisations, or an understanding of financial management, or knowledge of the voluntary and charity sector would all be very useful. We are particularly keen to hear from people who are involved with organisations that are members of DDCVS.

Trustees undertake the role on an unpaid, voluntary basis, and would be expected to attend five Board meetings per year (Board meetings last around two hours), as well as other occasional meetings and events.

Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a Trustee of Derbyshire Dales CVS should contact Neil on 01629 812154 or e-mail neil@ddcvs.org.uk .

PDRHA is a charitable housing association. It provides affordable housing in the villages of the Peak District for local people who cannot otherwise access housing in their communities.

The organisation seeks new board members and is particularly keen to hear from people with social care or health sector experience, but more than anything, people with an enthusiasm for making a positive difference to our rural communities.

Seeking to improve the diversity of our board, applications from women, people with disabilities and people from an ethnic minority background, would be particularly welcome. Also, applications from PDRHA residents and those who live in social housing are encouraged.

The closing date for applications is 8th March 2019. For more information please contact Alison Clamp, Company Secretary, PDRHA on 0300 1234 009.
