It's the first annual Potrero Hill Neighborhood Maker Fest, and we'll be printing Mesoamerican animal heiroglyphs with hand carved linoleum blocks. A $10 donation will be gladly accepted for a day of making with many local maker organizations. For details on all the making activities, clickhere.
It's a giant annual science fair, arts exhibition, and maker fest. At the Peopleologie table, we'll guide you in weaving on back-strap looms, the old way, adding some rows to an eventual public wall hanging or donated blanket.
Learn about centuries old weaving traditions passed down generations by women weavers, and how to warp and weave on your own simple loom made from household items.
For all ages 5+, we'll help you weave an armband/hair scrunchie, or a simple tabletop or wall hanging piece. Feel like finishing it at home? No problem!
Learn about the role of quilts and quilt patterns during times of slavery and along Underground Railroad routes. Then, make a no-sew quilt piece from scraps to take home or add to our community quilt for the library. Registration required.
