Dear <<First Name>>,

My First Reports from the 2019 AF Symposium

February 14, 2019: So much to share with you! On the plane home from Boston, I started writing my reports for my A-Fib.com readers. From my Overview...

"The most prominent topic at this year’s Symposium was the CABANA trial (compares ablation to antiarrhythmic drugs). So much future technology with topics such as Quantum Mechanics, Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Interaction. There were 65 short presentations, and topic sessions were moderated by leaders in the A-Fib field.

The five live ablation cases session Friday morning was again worth the price of admission by itself...."

As always, I welcome your email, Your A-Fib friend....Steve Ryan

Medical Marijuana: A-Fib Patients Offer their Experiences I'm hoping with the increased use of medical marijuana that we'll get more data on its effects on A-Fib. Several A-Fib.com readers have emailed me to share their observations and experiences with marijuana. Read their comments
Why am I Angry at Some Doctors Treating A-Fib Patients...those cardiologists who want to leave their patients in A-Fib. It doesn’t matter even if a patient has no apparent symptoms. Just putting a patient on rate control meds and leaving them in A-Fib can have disastrous consequences. Read why it's so wrong!
AF Symposium: My 3rd Report: Multi-Electrode RF Balloon Catheter, a “one-shot” delivery of RF energy can burn lesions to isolate the PVs in just minutes.10 gold surface electrodes can be turned on and off or set to different energy levels. Attendees watched a live ablation as the EP took just 7 seconds to isolate a particular vein―quite remarkable. Read on....
AF Symposium: New Vascular Closure Device solves Post-op Ablations Bleeding
The catheter insertion point in the groin typically keeps the patient on their back for about 6 hours while it heals and stops bleeding enough so they can be discharged. This new device solves the problem in about an hour by putting a sort of 'cork' in it. Learn more.
Do Not Use This Product” Warnings on Decongestants: Which are Safe for A-Fib Patients: This time of year cold sufferers reach for over-the-counter decongestants. But product labels warn: “Do not use this product if you have heart disease...” Learn what this means for A-Fib patients
Why You Need an A-Fib Notebook and 3-Ring Binder: As you search for your A-Fib cure, you'll want to organize the information you are collecting. Start with a notebook and a three-ring binder or a file folder. Keep copies of all lab tests, list of meds, insurance claims, treatment results, etc. Learn what else to collect.
How to Cook up Your A-Fib Plan for a CureWe encourage you to become your own best patient advocate. Our “recipe” helps you look beyond common drug therapies and nourish you on your path to an A-Fib cure or best outcome for you. Review our special ingredients.
AF Symposium: My 2nd Report: Automated Robotic Ultrasound Ablation. Attendees watched a live ablation from the Czech Republic as the catheter hovered over the heart surface while the highly directional ultrasound energy beam created the lesion lines—never touching the tissue. Amazing! Read more.
VIDEO: What Should I Expect After my A-Fib Catheter Ablation ProcedureEP Darryl Wells talks about judging the success of your ablation, why it’s difficult to predict which patients will be completely cured after one ablation procedure and why some require two procedures; safety of the procedure and the appropriate age range for patients.
