Dear Port Fairy Folk Festival Friend,
With less than 4 weeks to go, we still have some wonderful program events to announce. What better way to spend Sunday afternoon than walking the streets of Port Fairy, with our very own roving minstrels The Southern Ocean Sea Band …. they’ll serenade you, as well as tell great historic tales … some tall and some true … and some where the jury is still out … about our gorgeous seaside village. From The Murder of Sergeant Dodds at the Star of the West, to Mermaids of the Moyne …. this is a discovery walk like no other.
Discovering our historic village is a joy and The Wharf will be the place to be on Saturday afternoon as the Port Fairy Citizens Band fire up at 2:00pm to be followed by the Shanties session with yes, you guessed it The Southern Ocean Sea Band and their comrades in all things Shanty, The Tin Shed Singers.
We are also delighted that the Find Your Voice All Abilities Choir which debuted at the Festival last year, and of which we are proud supporters, will sing their hearts our for us as a part of opening night on Stage 1.
For those of you who are players there is so much on offer, and The Session on Saturday and Sunday nights from 9:00pm at The Pavilion is just one of them. So bring your instruments and play with your festival family as we all make great music and share stories together.
