APA MN CHAPTER NEWS

APA Minnesota Members Appointed to National Leadership Posts

APA Minnesota is a local chapter of a nationwide nonprofit organization known as the American Planning Association. APA is made up of several components including the Chapter President’s Council and Divisions. Several APA MN members have been appointed to national leadership posts.

Corrin Wendell has been elected as the Chair of the Women and Planning Division, with Breanne Rothstein elected as Vice-Chair. As one of the earliest divisions of the American Planning Association, the Women and Planning Division was formed in 1979 as a platform from which to transmit ideas and career concerns of particular interest to women and to the general membership of the American Planning Association. More information can be found online at www.planning.org/divisions/women.

As APA MN President, Tim Gladhill sits on the Chapter Presidents Council. The CPC is a Council of all the incumbent Presidents of Chapters that meets as a body to advise the APA Board of Directors, and to exchange views and information on matters of common concern as it relates to local chapters. Tim Gladhill has been selected to Chair the Education and Certification Committee of CPC. The primary work item for this committee is to update the AICP Exam Manual based on recent updates to the AICP Exam. This is a tall task, but the manual update is set to be completed this May. Other endeavors of the Education and Certification Committee include sample best management practices for local chapters to advance their local efforts in Education and Certification.
