February Update

Recycling In Lancing has progessed hugely within the last month. From big donations to articles in magazines, all the news we need to update you on is very exciting!

At The Heart Of The Matter!

Just last week, North Lancing's first public defibrillator was fitted  - all thanks to Recycling In Lancing. Well, half thanks to us! Recycling In Lancing donated half the funds needed to make this amazing project happen.
Sussex Heart charity match-funded the purchase price of the defibrillator which was fitted to the Fircroft News shop at the junction of Lynchmere Avenue and Manor Road.
A big thank you goes to Bhadresh and Mayuri Patel for allowing the machine to be installed on their outside shop wall.

Of course, a massive thank you goes to you, our donors. Generously collecting items for us to recycle which generates funds to support amazing projects like this one.

Pullout and Keep Guide!

Inside Broadwater provided it's January readers with a pullout and keep guide.
The guide's purpose was to inform readers of what we collect and where we collect it.
7,000 copies were delievered to homes all over Broadwater!

Didn't get a pullout guide?

Don't worry! You can download a printable list of what we collect here.

Full Page Feature

The Goring Guide gave Recyling In Lancing a full page feature in their latest February issue.
The article explained a little bit about what we do and included a list of the items we collect.

It's great to see the local communities become increasingly aware of the work we do and the charities we help. The publicity Recycling In Lancing is getting is incredible and it always brings a smile to our faces to see that our efforts are being recognised.

      IMPORTANT NOTICE
Recycling in Lancing is a real labour of love for Sue and John Wellfare. They volunteer at least 26 hours of their week to this amazing initiative and cannot claim back expenses such as the petrol they used collecting all of your generous donations. To make collecting and sorting easier for them, please remember a few small things:
  • Strictly stick to what is on the list, no items that are similar in material are allowed
  • Please keep pet food pouches in a separate bag when donating them, ensuring they are rinsed out before donating
  • Please keep crisp packets flat and NOT FOLDED as they have to be sent to TerraCycle flat
  • Please keep crisp packets separate to avoid unnecessary sorting
Sue and John thank you for your continued support to not just this initative, but in saving the planet too!

Got any local family and friends?

Forward this email to them to help spread the word about what we're doing. It may even ecourage them to start collecting too.
