IMPORTANT UPDATE: The location for this event has changed. It will now be held at Church of the Holy Cross in North Plainfield.

This workshop is a source of help and practice for those who participate in the ministries of Eucharistic Minister, Eucharistic Visitor, and Lector. Participants receive information based on sound Biblical theology as well as hands-on practice with seasoned professionals. You may wish to stay for the entire day as you seek to expand the ministries that you provide to your church or you may focus on your existing ministry. Training is based on the Diocese’s Manual for the Licensing of Lay Ministries which contains the most recent changes in the Canons of The Episcopal Church and requires periodic training for those persons called to these ministries.
The morning session of the Licensed Ministries Training features a workshop on Reading Aloud Effectively. It gives Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers the skills and techniques to help them read Scripture aloud and to assist the congregation in their understanding of the various texts. You'll also participate in a coaching session.
The afternoon session lets Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors practice administering the Chalice and Paten and to reflect on the theological and pastoral aspects of these ministries. Sponsored by the Committee on the Priesthood.
Lectors – 10 am to 1pm
Eucharistic Ministers & Visitors – 1:30 to 4:30 pm
Lunch will be provided.
Registration Register by February 13 online at or contact Mary Anne Clisham, 609 394-5281, ext. 10 or mclisham@dioceseofnj.org
