 In Or Out Of Control?
Who Is In Control?

For any man who has lived long enough the immediate (and correct) response to the question above is, "Not me!"  We've had enough surprises, interruptions, sucker punches and shocks to understand that there is so much of life that is out of our control.

Most of us also understand that life works best when we don't try to be in control.  But, frankly, it's easier said than done.  What is the balance between releasing control while maintaining responsibility?  Is it even possible?

We are in the middle of a series at First Watch called Five Vital Truths That Lead To Freedom.  Tomorrow we are  talking about the freedom that comes when we surrender control.  The result of releasing our grip on trying to control our circumstances as well as the actions and attitudes of others is rest for our souls.   Could you use some rest?  Me too.  Let's talk about it.

First Watch is every Friday at 6:22 AM in the Commons at Irving Bible Church.

First Watch is honest conversation, hot coffee, fresh donuts and bananas.
