OR TAMBO HAS BANNED IRREGULAR SHAPED BAGS

If you're prone to using duffel bags or irregular backpacks while travelling - you'll have to change your packing habits when travelling via OR Tambo.
New rules for checking in bags of irregular shape and size have come into effect at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport from Monday 25 March 2019.
The new rules are aimed at preventing blockages and breakdowns in the baggage handling system caused by bags that do not have any flat surfaces or that have long straps or grips as per the International Air Transport Association (IATA) guidelines.

  1. Only regular-shaped bags will be allowed at check-in counters;
  2. This means that the bags must have at least one flat surface to be accepted on the check-in system;
  3. Round or irregular-shaped bags will not be allowed at check-in counters; and
  4. Bags with longs straps will not be allowed at check-in counter.
  5. Please note that a duffel bag with a flat surface/bottom and no long loose straps is permitted.

Hunting Summary 2019

We started our hunting season with very good friends from PA.  Looking forward to welcoming one and all to Africa this year.
Dear Pieter and Ria
We feel very fortunate to be able to spend a 3rd South African adventure with our Motsomi family. Driekoppen offered a new experience , returning to Nyala felt like coming home and we still have Victoria Falls ahead. As a bow hunter I have new appreciation for rifle hunting, it was both challenging and rewarding. Best memory: The 5 hour(10800 steps) stalk of the sable bull, the final outcome and not losing my wife!
I learned the most elusive animal is the jackal and the fastest animal is the PH opening the bolt on my rifle!
Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay an adventure of a lifetime. Simon, Jeff, Juanita an extra thanks to PC for the lion park and sunset plus extra jackal attempts, Ria for all her efforts in planning our trip, Zach who is the best cook in SA and Pieter who is not only a very talented and knowledgeable PH but also a privilege to hunt with. Our time spent with our Motsomi family went beyond expectation. We got to be "Blessed by the rain in Africa"(literally) and we feel blessed to have this experience.
You're the best!
