Hey SAPC Families!

I hope you all are doing well and are enjoying the bump in temperatures!

I wanted to fill you all in on some upcoming mission activities for our kids. On February 24, the kids will be participating in mission activities during Sunday School. We will be packing for Backpack Buddies and learning about activities that intertwine our faith and environment. One of the things we are going to start doing as a program is recycling markers and crayons. If you have any old markers or crayons lying around your house, please bring them for us to recycle instead of throwing them into the landfill!

Also on February 24, the SAPC Gun Violence Group will have a short presentation for parents of kids about safety and talking to your kids about gun violence. More information can be found after the calendar.

I hope you all have a great weekend and I hope to see you!

Peace and Joy,
Mary Catherine

What's Going On This Week?!!

Sunday: We will have two worship services at 9 am and 11 am. There will be Sunday School at 9:50 am. There will be childcare for Pre-K and under. Hands on Worship will NOT meet this week so families can take Communion together. Children's Choir will meet this week at 5pm.
Upcoming Calendar of Events

February 10: Communion
February 24: Mission Project Sunday

Gun Violence group hosting a                                 meeting on talking to your children and                     other parents about gunsafety

On behalf of the SAPC gun violence prevention team, we want to invite you to an approximately 20 minute presentation on Sunday February 24 starting after our second service (around 12:15 pm).  A light lunch of Valerie's pasta salad and fruit will be provided, and pizza for the kids.  Childcare is also available if you register with Mary Catherine, or older kids can attend.  (This presentation will be followed by one on legislation and advocacy, but feel free to slip out if you aren't interested in staying.)

The presentation is a public education campaign asking gun owners and non-gun owners alike to take simple steps to reduce the number of unintentional shootings, suicides, and homicides that occur when children or teens get access to guns that are not stored responsibly.  Our presenter, from the group Moms Demand Action, will give us practical, non-political advice to keep kids (and teens) safer.
Here is a link to a 5 minute video that outlines the program, if you are interested.
