The President’s Luncheon and Awards Ceremony proudly recognizes the outstanding contributions of individuals, groups and communities who have shown leadership and innovation in advancing the recreation sector. Join us in celebrating the effort, commitment and achievements of the 2019 award recipients.
 
 

PRAIRE CROCUS AWARD
The Prairie Crocus Award is the most prestigious award presented by Recreation Connections Manitoba and honours a professional who has made a significant contribution to recreation, therapeutic recreation, parks and/or leisure services within the Province of Manitoba.

PRESIDENT’S AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT
The President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement recognizes a recreation professional or group of recreation and allied sector professionals who have made a substantial contribution through a regional or provincial recreation project, initiative, program or event.

AWARD OF MERIT
The Award of Merit will recognize a community group, organization or municipality for excellence and innovation in the provision of recreation, therapeutic recreation and/or parks programs and services at the community level.
 
Glenboro 55+ Games Committee

STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Student Leadership Award is presented to a student attending a post-secondary institution who has made a significant contribution to recreation, therapeutic recreation, parks and/or leisure services through his/her volunteer activities, work experience and academic studies.

Recreation Connections Manitoba will be hosting a new event attached to the 2019 Annual
Provincial Recreation Conference – The Municipal Parks and Trails Forum.
This forum will be held on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019, at Canad Inns Destination Centre Polo Park, Winnipeg.

2019 Green Jobs Program

CPRA is now accepting applications for Summer 2019 Green Jobs!

Through this program, CPRA will fund 500 jobs next summer by providing provide direct financial support (via wage subsidies) to municipalities, Indigenous communities and other sector organizations, allowing them to offer new summer job positions that focus on green career-related activities. 

The goals of the Green Jobs Initiative are to:
  • Create meaningful job experiences for youth
  • Build a generation of youth that will value nature close to home and potentially pursue an opportunity to build a career in the green jobs sector
  • Generate much needed support to municipalities, Indigenous communities and other sector organizations to hire additional youth to advance their green priorities
