Class was in session for our teacher pod

The network's year of going live continued this week with Ed - Conversations about the Teaching Life at the North Central Teachers' Convention!
Ed's live show at NCTCA 2019
Teachers Shaun Smith, Joe Reimer and Jeremy Cooper joined Ed host Shane Lawrence for a live recording where they shared their wins and fails, their takes on the best kind of professional development, and what they do to replenish themselves. The episode will be out in March.

Shane also did a bit of a talk on the power of podcasting as a tool for professional development, and he's already got that on his feed. You can even follow along with the slides.

We recorded at CKUA, right across the street from the Edmonton Convention Centre. (It's also home of ATB's Branch for Arts and Culture, by the way).

Updates on some of the other live experiences we're involved in:
  • Feb. 9: Let's Find Out — How Nature Shapes Us is sold out! Be sure to subscribe to Let's Find Out so you don't miss the episode that emerges from Saturday's show or the rest of the season, which will be inspired by the event. It will also be cross-published by Taproot Edmonton.

  • March 17: That’s a Thing?! Live Podcast: The Internet is my GSA takes place on the last day of SkirtsAfire, but don't wait until the end to take in this great festival. Remember that you, a subscriber to this newsletter, can win two tickets to any SkirtsAfire MainStage performance. To enter the draw, all you have to do is send us the name of your favourite Alberta Podcast Network show by noon on Feb. 25.

Alberta Business Spotlight: Park Power

Park Power's Kris Kasawski
It was lots of fun to hear a little more about the motivations behind Park Power and what owner Kris Kasawski has learned about business along the way.

Just like us, he loves local, and as it turns out, he sees some parallels between his business and podcasts. Check out our interview with Kris, who we're so pleased to have as a sponsor of the Alberta Podcast Network.
