ALTER-Net partner UFZ is running a series of seminars on the science policy interface. These will take place in Leipzig and will be livestreamed via the internet.
The first seminar (February 13th, 9:00am – 12:30pm CET) will bring more understanding of the SPI work, and UFZ has invited many well-known SPI experts for this purpose. A panel discussion, chaired by a professional facilitator Estelle Balian (FE-AL - Facilitation for Environmental Action & Learning), will be held after the talks in which Carsten Nesshoever (German Advisory Council on the Environment - SRU) will join all the following keynote speakers for a lively discussion on the challenges at the Science Policy Interface.
- Roger Pielke Jr. - Center for Science and Technology Policy Research (CSTPR) at University of Colorado Boulder
- Joseph Settele – IPBES - Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
- Juliette Young – Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, CEH, UK (SPIRAL and EKLIPSE Project)
- Allan Watt – ALTER-Net - A Long Term Ecological Research-Network (SPIRAL and EKLIPSE Project)
You can join the seminar in person in Leipzig (registration is essential). Or you can watch the event via the livestream and ask questions via www.menti.com (instructions will be provided in the livestream link) or on Twitter (with hashtag #SPI_UFZ).
