2019 Winter & Spring Programs for K-12

Looking for engaging, nature-based experiences for your young learners? We offer a variety of field trips that immerse students in discovery at both VanDusen Botanical Garden and Bloedel Conservatory. Ranging from self-guided programs utilizing our customized online resources to 90 or 45 minute guided programs led by engaging interpreters, our curriculum-aligned programs encourage students to connect with the natural world. And don't forget about Pollinator Days - our most buzz-worthy field trip event of the year - coming to VanDusen this June!

Check out our offerings and book directly online or contact ddeckant@vandusen.org with any inquiries.

January Highlights

At the end of January, VBGA hosted Incorporating First Peoples & Plants of BC into Your Curriculum for West Vancouver Schools District Pro-D. Our workshops offered educators the opportunity to discover, identify, and share knowledge of iconic native plants of BC and their role in the province’s unique ecosystems. Teachers gained competency to effectively share knowledge both of local flora and the important perspectives of First Peoples - including ethnobotany and worldviews - while incorporating reconciliatory practices in the classroom.

Interested in attending one of our Teacher Pro-D workshops? Contact ehallmeyer@vandusen.org with any inquiries.
