He Makes All Things New

Shortly after ringing in the New Year, Chuck and I made our way to Ohio for some meetings.  We added a few extra days to help some US missionary friends with the remodeling of a tavern turning sanctuary right in the heart of one of the worst areas in Cleveland.  God literally gave them this dilapadated old tavern!  A building that once served spirits, a tool the enemy often uses to bind up people, will now offer the Holy Spirit, the One who can set people free!!
A week later we ministered back in Illinois with one of our partner churches. After the service, a woman approached me, her eyes wild with excitement, and asked, "Do you remember me?"  Immediately I began sifting through the many services and scenes in my mind trying to allow her face to jog my memory.  Before I had time to answer, Jenny shared her story.
"You came to our church several years ago.  I came up for prayer, crying. You asked me a couple of questions and before I knew it, I blurted out that I was addicted to prescription drugs."  She went on to explain how she had been carrying this burden for a very long time.  You see, the enemy of our souls had been whispering in her ear the persistent lie that she couldn't tell anyone.  "After all," he accused, "you're a leader in children's church ministry.  What will your pastor think of you?  What would your husband say, or your parents, if they knew you were addicted to prescription drugs?"  And the enemy twisted the knife of shame and guilt further into her soul, attempting to further cripple this child of God and keep her bound.
But Jenny's story didn't end there.  She proceeded to tell me that Jesus had set her free at that very moment we prayed together!   She was no longer chained to prescription drugs or the shame and guilt the enemy used to keep her bound.  She has been walking in freedom ever since.  Needless to say, we had a little hallelujah party right there in the foyer!  What had been a cloak of shame was now a platform of testimony of God's amazing power to set us free!
Whatever you need today, God is able.  The One who provided a building for a small, inner-city congregation to worship Him in is the same One who delivered Jenny from the enemy's crippling grip of shame and guilt.  Jesus is alive and well and can meet whatever need you have today!

What people are saying about MAD...

"Chuck & Wilma Lormis were a great blessing in boosting both our passion and effectiveness as a missions-minded church.  Their passion for missions is contagious, as well as genuine, and all our hearts were stirred with a renewed commitment for missions as we sat under their teaching.  After their time with us, our missions giving increased about thirty percent!  As a pastor, I deeply appreciated their investment in taking the time to understand where our church was and tailoring their approach to best meet our needs.  Both of them have such rich experience in missions that it can't help but be a blessing to local churches.  Wilma's experience in training and Chuck's experience as a missions-oriented pastor provide an amazing synergy when brought together to bless the missions ministry of the local church.  We heartily recommend their ministry!"

On a personal note...
We loved seeing 4 people respond to the Gospel over the past several weeks.  Please pray God continues to draw people and give us more opportunities to share the life changing message of Jesus through the ministry as well as personal interactions as we travel.   We are truly grateful for each and everyone of you who pray and give to make this all possible.  Together we do make a difference!!
