Now that February is here, winter weather has come out in full force! Freezing rain, ice, sleet or snow have blanketed the Arboretum almost every week it seems. With the weather outside being so frightful, Beth and Rob continued working on special events and getting the Arboretum ready for the season.
The gnomes are up to their usual antics, and last week they even went sledding! You can see that video and all of the fun they're having in the gardens this winter by checking out our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Reciprocal memberships are a great way to have winter fun!

Did you know that there are 6 other botanic gardens in Iowa that are a part of the American Horticultural Society's Reciprocal Admissions program?

Maybe you made a New Years Resolution to volunteer more or you just want to become more involved in your community. If so, let's talk! We are always looking for volunteers to help us complete our mission and make a difference.
If you're someone who loves the outdoors, who think that our relationship with nature is important, or you think volunteering for the Arboretum might be fun and want to test it out send an email to Beth at office@cedarvalleyarboretum.org.
Volunteers help us greet visitors, take care of the gardens, lead tours, run events, chair committees, enter data, research for projects, use their hands and build, and so much more.
