Questa History & Community Trail

The team is busy with grant-writing and planning for this coming summer’s effort, seeking matching funds to utilize the grant awarded by the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area for this popular project. We hope to replace our existing wooden trail signs with long lasting metal frames and updated text this year. Comments taken at our guided walks of last summer will be used to move the project along. Questa Beautification Signage Projects

Lamp Post Banners
The first set of banners funded by the Questa Economic Development Fund (QEDF) exhibits the beautiful hand-painted retablos in St Anthony’s historic Church. The other two sets of banners will display artworks by local artists and craftspersons, and a third set will show historic photos of our village. We hope the retablos will be up for everyone to see very soon. There will be an opening celebration with posters of the eight images for sale in the near future.

 Welcome Signs
The QCC has partnered with the QEDF to develop 3 “Welcome to Questa” signs to be installed on the main roads as one drives into Questa. From the 37 entries that were received, three designs are now under consideration.

How can you support projects like these into the future?

Your help is most welcome as a volunteer or by submitting your own idea or project within the QCC.

For example! Four women from the community have stepped up to support ongoing administrative and research needs: Judy Rutledge and Betsy Irwin are finding funding sources while working on several grants for operating and project support. Linda Batz is coordinating volunteers. (Additionally, she loves helping to throw parties and other functions.) Nancy Parker has taken over membership duties, reminding you of your membership renewal dates. Welcome these folks into the QCC fold and, if you need help, please give them a shout! Contact them at questacreativecouncil@gmail.com.

Another way to support is through your dollars and membership. Please visit our website and donate there on the "Join" page or push our "join now" button below.

Your generosity has direct impact and is very much appreciated.

Be a part of the creative action!
We grow brighter together.

Consider joining the Questa Creative Council as a member. Membership levels start at only $10. Volunteers are always welcome, too!

We are grateful to those who sponsor our projects:

Some of these projects are supported in part by New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and by the National Endowment for the Arts.
