Snow Closure & Important Updates

Dear ASB Families,

School will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Feburary 11th due to inclement weather and icy road conditions.  We will continue to monitor the weather and announce further closures/late starts as soon as possible.

Teachers may be sending assignments for students, either via email or posted in Google Classroom (grades 6-8).  This is up to the discretion of individual teachers to decide what will be most helpful in minimizing the impact of missed classes.  I have asked teachers to post/send anything they would like completed by 10:00 AM tomorrow, including instructions and due dates/times. Students will be responsible for completing assigned work.

Volleyball assessments and musical rehearsals will be rescheduled.  More information will be sent as soon as we have it.

Depending upon how many days we miss this week, we will evaluate the need for making up missed time.  The first option will be having students attend school on Friday, March 15th in lieu of a a staff professional development day. Please plan on the possibility of having your child at school that day.  I will let you know as soon as a final decision is made.

While we can never predict closures, this is an important time to remind all families of being more mindful of planning absences during regular school days.  I have signed a number of pre-planned absence forms for families planning to extend their vacations beyond our scheduled days next week.  There are a high number of students who've already had seven or more absences this year - and we're only halfway through.  Please be diligent in your future planning, both for the remainder of this year and for the many people already booking their vacations for next year.

Stay warm and safe and hopefully we will see everyone back at school soon!
