Thank You Corner:
Lakeshore Book Room Makeover

Special thanks to Ms. Streeter who spearheaded and all the parent/student volunteers who came last Saturday to come help label, sort and update the Lakeshore Book Room!
PTA General Meeting:
Tomorrow 2/21 (6-7:30pm)

Come to have fun, play games, and enjoy free dinner with other parents (with free child care)!
Stay for important updates and to share your input.

Hear community feedback so far on how to allocate this year’s anticipated fundraising surplus, learn how to join the team that consolidates feedback with PTA priorities to propose next year’s budget, and find out what it takes to serve on the PTA board (First step: ask to be nominated!).

And yes, it's true—the PTA now provides free dinner at meetings in addition to free child care. Come share a meal with other Lakeshore parents and bring your knowledge of Lakeshore trivia for a game of Kahoot! The kids will have a great time with their friends, too, but they shouldn’t have all the fun!

Please RSVP at bit.ly/ls190221pta so we are sure to have food for all.

Check out these materials before the meeting so we can approve them as quickly as possible: agenda, financial report, treasurer's report, checks to ratify, audit checklist, and mid-year audit reports for Main account, Class Funds, Money Market, Morning Mandarin, and Afternoon Mandarin.

Library News:
K-2 Author Event, Tuesday 3/5

On Tuesday, March 5, author/illustrator Peter H. Reynolds will be visiting Lakeshore. Reynolds is the award-winning author of many wonderful picture books, including The Dot, Ish, The Word Collector, and many more.

All Kindergarten-2nd grade students will attend an assembly in the Community Room from 9:45-10:45. And, even more exciting, each student will receive their own personal, autographed, FREE copy of his upcoming book Say Something! This book encourages children to express their ideas and dreams because everyone’s beliefs are important.

We are very excited about this event! Thank you to the Library Department, Books, Inc., and Mr. Hartford for making this event possible.

Questions? Contact Lauren Sidle (Ms. Lauren) at sidlel@sfusd.edu. Learn more about Peter Reynolds at peterhreynolds.com.
