Jayden's Story
Jayden left Woodfield last year to embark on an apprenticeship at the Savoy hotel. Click here to read about Jayden's journey, which shows you what hard work and determination can do! We are all super proud of Jayden, and all out pupils who have moved on into the world of work! Jayden is pictured with master cook, Adrian Martin who is, apart from Jayden's mum, his No 1 fan!
Jack Petchey Awards
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, which recognises outstanding young people aged 11-25 across London and Essex. Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners are young people who have gone above and beyond to achieve – perhaps when others thought they might fail.
The Jack Petchey Celebration was last night. All our students attended the event with some more nervous than others. It was lovely to see the joy on the faces of the students and their families! A special thanks to Mr Murray, Ms Markanday and Mr Hunt who attended the ceremony last night... Thank you for your support!!!
We congratulate the following students on their achievement!
Winner: Abdimajid
Reason for award: Abdimajid found something of value (mobile phone) and showed honesty and integrity to hand it in to the office. The item was proven to be of great value to the owner who had recently lost her son, and all the pictures of him were on the mobile phone, and would have been lost forever but for Abdimajid's honesty.
Winner : Danny
Reason for award : Showing empathy to friends and other peers in and around school. He has also become more accepting of others and their viewpoints or opinions.
Winner : Neesa
Reason for award : Outstanding Student of the Year! Neesa has had a fantastic turnaround in her educational attitude and attendance- improving from 58% to 100% over the last year. She has gone from a school refuser to an excellent attender and a Teaching Assistant supporting her younger peers and became a TA in demand.
Winner : Dillan
Reason for award : Dilan has been recognised as a peer who gives great advice to students in need. He is a Student Mentor and takes pride in his role and responsibilities.
Winner : Aaliyah
Reason for award : Aaliyah is a humble and hardworking individual. She enjoys her work in school and is an inspiration to others. She has been recognised for her ability to keep a balance with her peers and treat them fairly even when they fall out and parts of the group are not getting along.
Winner: Franklin
Reason for award: Franklin has been a fantastic student. he makes effort to communicate with others and volunteers to help others on a regular basis. He does not let his disability get in the way of his daily life.
School uniform and P.E kit
Please can we remind parent / carers again to make sure all pupils clothing has been labelled. The lost property box at school is over flowing with clothing items but without labels.
Year 11 Parents Coffee Morning
Thank you to everyone who attended the Year 11 transition coffee morning on Friday 15th. We hope you found it of great value and had some of your questions answered. Please keep informed of our upcoming coffee mornings via the weekly blue letter.
Parent Carer Advice Sessions
Do you need advice or support? The Brent Carers Centre is a charity providing advice and guidance to family carers in Brent on a wide range of subjects including benefits. See their website for more details, or phone 020 3802 7070.
They can check your family entitlement to benefits and help with benefit claims and forms. They can look for grants for families who are struggling financially for things like uniforms or white goods.
They offer support groups, forums activities and respite for carers.
They are holding confidential advice clinics over the next few months on the following dates.
Monday 25th March, Monday 20th May and Monday 15th July.

A Message from School Money, our on line payments provider
With online payments on the rise, Eduspot (as providers of SchoolMoney) would like to remind you to be extra vigilant when making payments.
Recently, there have been a small number of reports of attempts to defraud parents whilst using SchoolMoney. We thoroughly investigate all reports of attempts to defraud parents using our system (including separate, independent checks) and can confirm that we found we found that no fraud, data breach or malicious attack has occurred.
We believe however, that it important to remind parents to be extra vigilant when making payments online. NEVER give out your ATM pin to anyone – no system or person should ever require this to complete an online transaction. If something looks suspicious, do not complete the payment, close down your browser and start again making sure you are using a genuine website.
You should also ensure all system and app updates are applied to your PC or mobile devices and that they have reliable, up-to-date anti-virus software installed. Increasingly, mobile devices are the targets of malicious software so it’s important that these also have adequate protection.

Emergency contact information
Parent/Carers may recall being sent a form requesting additional emergency contact numbers. This is now a legal requirement. The school specifically requires two additional numbers other than the parents. In the event of an emergency where we cannot get hold of the primary parent / carer; we have another point of contact who may be able to get hold of the parent / carer in another form.
