Mayfair Farm
Winter is ringing our bell again, but we can handle it. I thought about all of you who staffed and shopped the market last Saturday in the breezy cold, as I sat with my leg elevated, following all my doctor's orders. It was boring inside, but much warmer! I am progressing well, and will be back on my feet sooner than expected, but not working at the same speed as before. My husband, sons and their wives have been extremely helpful, and the grandkids, Decker and Emma, very solicitous. "Is your knee fixed, Grandma?" They repeat that at regular intervals during their visits. The old saying about knowing who your friends are when you really need them is so true. Thank you to everyone who has inquired, sent best wishes, and offered to step up as needed,
Please continue to stop by the market on Tuesdays. The specialties available at the Tuesday market can raise your fresh and local dining to another level. Go low and slow with crockpot stews and meats, or quick and flashing with sauteed mushrooms; both techniques have a place in our cooking and dining schedules. Please hang in there with your market farmers and their fresh and local offerings, despite weather difficulties and other problems. We promise to be back at full speed soon.
