Up to $50K for Innovative Waste Reduction Projects

Are you a nonprofit or business with fresh ideas to eliminate waste? StopWaste is looking for projects that reuse, reduce, repair, redesign or recover goods or other materials, or rescue and redistribute food.
- $20-50K with different tiers for the support of existing operations
and for new concepts and partnerships
- Must be located in and/or serve the residents of Alameda County
- Submit online grant concept proposal by March 1, 5:00PM
Concept proposals will be used as a preliminary screening tool to evaluate project ideas. Selected applicants will be invited to complete a full application.

Surplus Food Rescue
The Alameda County Community Food Bank used grant funding to expand their Grocery Rescue Program with a real-time donation pilot to increase recovery of food donations, including prepared food.

Electronics Repair & Reuse
Oakland-based Tech Exchange refurbishes unwanted computers for low-income East Bay families and schools. Thanks to grant funding they now distribute 4,000 refurbished computers each year.
