I’ve just finished a Mother and Daughter weekend at Denman College, where they were sampling many different crafts and having some great party fun in the evening – I was having to prepare for the next day, but I did get a visit from Max the cat, honorary member of Denman (because he actually lives next door)
Everybody say “ahhhh”…
Just in case you haven’t heard before, my students have all done very well at Calligraphy Arts HQ with really great results from everyone, and general feedback is they love the new light, bright and open working area.
If you’re in London on 10th March, you could come along and visit us at the London Pen Show Holiday inn (Bloomsbury), Coram Street, London WC1N 1HT. The show opens from 10am to 4pm – you will be amazed at the variety of pens (and prices!). More information at their Facebook page
I’m very pleased to say we’ll be at Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Festival at Hampton Court Green on 13th to 15th September, where I will be giving a one-hour workshop. More details about this when I know more…
The Emporium in Loughborough has moved across the road to bigger premises at 67 Wards End. It stocks my picture products and lots of other Leicestershire artist and crafters work. Please go and take a look. All proceeds go to support the Wellbeing café. I have also discussed running workshops in the space upstairs so, if anyone is interested in this please let me know, I am thinking evening classes in blocks of four or single-day classes
New Venues
Some of you have been wanting some new venues to try. Well, I’m excited to say that Bradgate Park Visitor Centre in Leicestershire have opened their doors and are offering four calligraphy workshops over 2019 – what a lovely environment to learn in. Please be aware that you will need to use the nearby car parks and the visitor centre is a short walk away…

Here are the first prototypes of our own ceramic pen rests made for Calligraphy Arts by the brilliant Lisa, owner of The Handmade Mug company. We will have the finished pen rests ready to sell over the next few weeks. There are going to be six designs - each one individually handmade.
