Get £150 to engage your Faculty

Celebrating our first edition, we are offering funding to facilitate public engagement networking events. £150 is available per Faculty to bring people together and grow the University of Bristol Public Engagement Network. Share ideas, challenges and opportunities and get support from the Public Engagement team.

Get your networking event off the ground

Explore the relationship between effective public engagement and responsible research at Engagement Bites, our series of informal lunchtime talks, on 13th March at 1pm. Click to book your place.

Book your free place at a stand-up comedy masterclass with Steve Cross, This NCCPE Researchers' Academy masterclass takes place at M-shed on 20th Feb (10.30-1.30) and on 21st Feb (9.45-12.45 with a non-public performance at Arnolfini at 5pm). Register your interest by 15th February - only 3 spaces available.

Develop citizen science or hands-on activities to engage families at Dr Jenner's House (Gloucestershire) on August Bank Holiday 2019. A great opportunity to develop your engagement experience - get in touch with the team for support.

PGRs, find new perspectives on your research and create engaging stories to connect people with your work at Research without Borders in May. Apply by 21st Feb.

  • Tea and biscuits on the last Thursday of the month, One Cathedral Square:
    Thursday 28th February, 3-5pm
  • Breakfast on the second Tuesday of the month, PGR Hub:
    Tuesday 12th March, 9.30-11.30am

Need help accessing funding for engagement? If you're EPSRC funded and have a great public engagement idea that could generate impact, talk to us about applying for the EPSRC IAA (next deadline 26th Feb). The ESRC IAA could be for you if you’re ESRC-funded, or if you get your funding from the MRC, check out their PE Seed Fund.

Congratulations to Dr Tom Gorochowski who was awarded funding from the Royal Society to raise awareness of biotechnology applications and to learn about different people's perceptions of the research.
