Sun Prairie Media Center

The Sun Prairie Media Center seeks to serve its city by educating, informing, entertaining, and empowering its citizens through programming produced by Sun Prairie residents for Sun Prairie residents. Through its TV station KSUN and community radio station 103.5 FM, the Media Center provides regular live coverage of many city and school board meetings, high school sports, as well as community news and events. The channels are also home to many informative and entertaining programs produced by community members. In addition, its groundbreaking and unique KIDS-4 program serves dozens of Sun Prairie students each year as students produce their own programs and videos that are aired on the KIDS-4 TV channel.
Live and on-demand programming is available through Charter, TDS, Roku, Apple TV, and at sunprairiemediacenter.com. The SPMC staff is comprised of four full-time, two part-time, four LTEs, and approximately 300 members, many of whom donate their time and talents to produce programming. Equipment training is available for any potential program providers. To get involved, please call 837-4193!

Snow and extreme cold temperatures caused the closure of City facilities, area businesses and area schools the last week of January. Despite the cold, Jimmy the Groundhog did not see his shadow at the City's 71st Groundhog Day Prognostication and is predicting an early Spring. Area businesses participated in the fun with a variety of family friendly activities and special offers for residents throughout the day.

At the February 5th City Council meeting, Mayor Esser re-issued his proclamation recognizing February as Black History Month. 2019 marks the 55th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The proclamation was presented to brothers Liam and Brendan Matthews, along with their father Jacob Matthews. There are a variety of community events being hosted throughout the City in honor of Black History Month. We hope to see you there!
