Elizabeth District Retreat Registration

The New Creation Youth are invited to the Elizabeth River District Youth Retreat this March 8-10! We will travel to 4-H Airfield in Wakefield, VA, for a weekend of worship, discipleship, and fellowship with other youth from across Southside Hampton Roads. This year's theme is "Diving Deeper." This retreat is open to middle and high school students (6th–12th grade). Registration closes this Thursday, February 7, 2019!

Registration costs are $130 per youth. This includes all travel, food, and accommodations. Registration closes this Thursday, February 7, 2019. Registration for this event is limited to 26 youth participants. Ensure your seat by registering early!

All Youth participants must have a 2018–19 Youth Permission Form on file in order to participate. A non-refundable deposit of $35 is required to secure a spot for the retreat. Stewardship Program points (up to $65 in value) are applied after your youth is registered. Scholarship assistance is available for students in need. Please email Jeremy.Crum@newcreationumc.org to request scholarship information.

Christa Springstead is a lifelong United Methodist, who grew up attending this very district youth retreat. Her experiences as a UMC youth were an important part of her formation as both a Christian and minister. She attended Virginia Wesleyan University and Duke Divinity School. Since graduating, she has served in full-time ministry in our district for seven years. She is currently appointed to St. John’s UMC in Norfolk. Christa’s passion is reaching those who have never been part of the church, those who grew up in but left the church, and those who have been hurt by the church. She’s excited to serve as the speaker at this year’s retreat and strongly believes that youth are not only the future of the church but the present - and that they have the power to set the standard for worship and discipleship in their communities of faith.

The Worship Collective is a small part of a larger group (Hampton Roads Worship Leader Collective). The HRWLC is a group of worship leaders who resource each other to help strengthen and grow the worship communities in the Hampton Roads area. Each member of the Worship Collective is a worship leader in their own church; breaking barriers of denomination, and coming together to create worship that speaks to all people.

If you have any questions or concerns about our mission projects for this summer, please email Jeremy.Crum@newcreationumc.org.
