Dear Friend,

I hope this finds you well, staying warm and enjoying the winter. Yes, it's cold and dark and there is snow to shovel and icy roads to navigate... but there is also beauty in how the snow covers everything with a clean white blanket, how nature is a little quieter and how the ice makes the trees and bushes sparkle.

Check our website for the latest schedule and information. Visit the Resources page for home practice sequences!

With gratitude,

Wisconsin Weather Challenges!
Mother nature is challenging us with snow and cold and you may be wondering if a class has been cancelled... Usually, If the teacher can make it in we will have class.  But if we do cancel, there will be a notice on our website, on our Facebook page and on the phone message, at least one hour before class starts. Most importantly, be safe! If you are not comfortable being out, you can always make up a class.

Chris in India
Chris is in India this month studying, practicing, observing and ... shopping! She shared some of the sights with me to share with you. From Chris...
For me India is the sounds, the smells, the food, the generous friends as well as the classes.  The Institute is so different than when I first came here.  At that time the only people teaching were Guruji, Prashant and Geeta had just begun.  Now there must be a dozen teachers and there are so many classes going on all the time. I am trying to observe some and it is so interesting to see the beginning classes where they don't correct a lot and they move them along pretty well.  Beginning classes here are only an hour but it is amazing what they do in an hour.
Yesterday I took about 2-3 hours just to read and work on sutra study and it was so nice not to feel rushed.  Also I am reading a good book called the Inner Tradition of Yoga.  The author is really trying to make a point about yoga not just being a physical culture and one phrase was interesting to me:  "Without the balanced practice of all eight limbs, and a path rooted in the first limb especially, yoga practice can easily become another form of materialism."
