Kids and Families are Encouraged to Snuggle up and Read this February

It’s cold outside, which means it’s a great time to snuggle up with some great books. Kids of all ages and their grown-ups are encouraged to read for at least 15 minutes each day during the month of February. Mark off or color in each day you read as a family or individually during the month of February, and bring your completed reading calendar to the Youth Services Ask Here desk in March to claim a free book for each participating child. Sign up online or at the Youth Services Ask Here Desk, and print out or pick up a reading calendar.

February Edgewater Walking Cruise

This month, we’ll share some Edgewater love. Youth are painting rocks with inspirational messages that we will place at surrounding homes and businesses. Meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 24 at West Salem Boys & Girls Club, 925 Gerth Ave NW. Afterward we’ll meet back at the club to enjoy free cocoa & cookies and conversation. All are welcome.

The first phase, called Our Salem: Today, is analyzing the existing conditions of the City and evaluating how Salem could grow under current policies. Check the project website every two weeks for our latest polling question. See the results from our previous question.
