Mr. Golden, aka Brook Rivers, uses juggling, magic, and humor to teach students about the water cycle, conservation, and many other water related topics. Ripple Effect Film Festival Premiere
Save the Date for the Ripple Effect Film Festival Premiere on Saturday, March 23rd at the Morton Theatre. Water related films submitted by students and teachers. Premiere is free and family friendly. The newly renovated DiscoverWater.org features nine learning units designed for students in upper elementary and middle school. Topics covered include fresh water habitats, the water cycle, oceans, watersheds, water conservation and healthy hydration, as well as concepts such as how soap and water interact to remove germs and how water is used in the production of everyday items. New short videos introduce each topic. Resources for educators and parents, as well as assessment tools, are available for each unit. The site is available free of charge for all users.

Farm to School Champion Award Nominations
The Clarke County School District has received statewide and national recognition for its farm-to-school programs, which have positively impacted our students and district as a whole. We would like to recognize our schools, staff, and teachers that contribute to this achievement. The CCSD F2S Champions Awards recognizes the educators, staff, and community members who go above and beyond to make garden-based learning a success at the school level.

We will be taking nominations until March 18, 2019. Selected leaders will be honored at the CCSD F2S Champions Awards, a catered ceremony, at the Athens Community Career Academy on April 3rd.

Georgia Project WILD is holding refresher training sessions for all Project WILD Facilitator on the new guides to maintain your facilitator status. February 26th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm at Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens, GA
The annual WET, WILD and PLT Facilitator workshop is scheduled for March 15-16 at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield. Don't miss this opportunity to receive facilitator certification for all three Projects!
The 15th annual Teacher Conservation Workshop is scheduled for the week of June 17-21. This interdisciplinary workshop focuses on the environmental, economical, and social benefits of Georgia’s forestry and wildlife communities and includes Project WET, WILD and Learning Tree certification.
