Annual General Meeting

March 19, 2019

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, the Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 7-9PM at Roedde House Museum. The AGM is always a great opportunity to meet staff, board directors, and other members of Team Roedde, while getting more involved with the organization. The agenda includes current and new events for the year, reviewing the past and upcoming budget, and an election for new Board Members.

All are welcome! Members are encouraged to attend and vote on executive decisions. If you are interested in voting, please make sure your membership is active - you can check the expiration date on your membership card or contact Montanna at coordinator@roeddehouse.org. If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, please contact Kelsey at manager@roeddehouse.org. Refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Want to be Our Treasurer?

Our current treasurer, Holly Palmer, has informed us that she will be unable to continue in this volunteer position. We thank her for all of her hard work over the past year!

If you have accounting experience and are interested in working with Roedde House Museum in this volunteer role, please have a look at our volunteer posting and contact Kelsey at manager@roeddehouse.org.

Welcome to Our New Board Member, Christopher!

Christopher Earl, who has been volunteering at the classical concerts for several months now, has recently taken on a position on the board as a Director-at-Large.

Christopher is a technologist currently working in residential design. He was a founding board member of the Prince George Folkfest Society. In his spare his spare time he enjoys being terrible at piano and painting and has just signed up for sailing lessons.

Thank you Christopher, and welcome to the board!
Classical Concert
This year’s Rising Stars concert features the Genesis Trio, exciting new talent from UBC.  Jonathan López, clarinet, Nina Weber, viola, and Markus Masaites, piano are each formidable musicians, and their consummate collaborative playing is nothing short of miraculous.  Join us in celebrating these emerging talents with a program including repertoire by Bach, Beethoven, and Bruch.

The classical concert is on March 17th at 4pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors and members. Show begins at 4 pm. Please arrive 15-20 minutes in advance for seat selection.

*These concert series would not be possible without the generous support of the McGrane-Pearson Endowment Fund and several private donors.*

New Artifact Displays

Something new is always happening at Roedde House! Our volunteers and staff are hard at work developing new exhibits. Two of the display cases have been redesigned. One contains artifacts related to weddings, and the other contains artifacts related to Roedde's bookbinding profession. If you want to see this wedding dress in person and know more about it, drop by the museum some time soon!
Family Day - February 18, 2019

In celebration of Family Day and BC Heritage Week, the museum will be open by donation on Monday, February 18. Please drop by between 1pm and 4pm for a special kid-friendly guided tour, as well as a chance to talk to the curator of the exhibition Canada, Your Prints Are Ready!

Admission on Family Day is by donation.
