Dallas International University
Since we arrived at Dallas International University, we have been able to reconnect with old friends and meet new people. We had a bit of time to relax and get settled into the place we will be calling home for the next few months. We are looking forward to the ways that God will be using us during our time here for Matthew's studies.
 Matthew spent a few days meeting with a dozen delegates that coordinate Language Technology Support and training in Europe, Asia, the Americas, the Pacific, and other parts of Africa. This was a great time to catch up with some of his close colleagues. After the trainer's meetings, there was a much larger conference with the software developers behind many of the tools Matthew teaches. Lastly, there were 3 further days of presentation and discussion about Language Software with representatives from many different organizations.
One of the reasons for arriving early in Dallas was for Matthew to be available for these meetings. This is always a great time to make sure that the needs from Cameroon are being heard, as well as to gain new ideas. Wow, there were so many great discussions, problems solved, and new questions raised! To our knowledge, Wycliffe has not hosted a similar Language Technology gathering on this scale since 2008. Matthew would love to take ample time to process through all of that information, but he had to leave some meetings to attend classes that overlapped during the final days! These classes are Semantics and Discourse.
Teresa is busy as well. She has applied to substitute at First Presbyterian Preschool. This preschool is connected to the church that we attend while here in Texas. The director of the preschool is excited and ready for her to help out where needed. Teresa is waiting for background check paperwork to be completed so that she can start!
Teresa has also been given the opportunity to help with the childcare program at The Wycliffe Connection in Orlando, FL. She will be serving with others to help children (and their families) who have been living overseas re-enter into the United States. She is praying that God will use her in a mighty way.

Praise and Prayers
- Praise for safe travels to Texas. We were able to leave Virginia before the snow came and had good weather conditions for our travels.
- Praise for the time we have had to settle in and connect with people here in Texas.
- Praise for the opportunity that Matthew had to connect with people during the Technology conference.
- Prayers for Matthew as he started two classes on February 6th.
- Prayers for Teresa as she helps with the children's program for The Wycliffe Connections in Orlando, FL from February 10th-15th.
- Prayers for the paperwork for Teresa's Virginia background check to quickly be processed so that she can begin substituting at First Presbyterian Preschool here in Texas.
- Prayers as we continue to seek financial partners to join our ministry team. Pray that we continue to communicate well with our current partners.
- Prayers that we don't lose focus on Christ.
