Hear Madame Vangie's story of what it was like growing up as a Filipina woman in the United States; the discrimination, the harassment, the rules of what to wear, her experience of not being allowed to go to school (and how she navigated those rules), and how she endured signs such as "Positively No Filipinos and Dogs Allowed" in restaurants and public places.

Vangie's story is important to our culture and to hear it first-hand is precious to our history in the United States. Vangie is the Filipino American community's Maya Angelou. So BE there. Bring your daughters, your nieces, your sisters, your aunts, your women friends, your mothers. Bring the girls in your neighborhood to meet Vangie.

The Summit brings together Filipina women global leaders, influencers, thinkers and public figures for discussions, learning journeys, “kwentuhan strategies” on how to succeed as multi-cultural professionals and private chats to ignite cooperation through public and private partnerships. The high-powered gathering is a vital part of FWN’s Pinay Power 2020 Mission: A Filipina leader in every sector of the economy.
