Dear Friend,

Now that I'm through another year-fundraising campaign and have begun on this year's schedule, I've had some time to reflect on why and how this ministry stays close to my heart and keeps me motivated and humble, following Jesus in serving these leaders. On Monday night I met with the Latino Pastors Association and the previous Monday night I met with the pastors for training. Each time I come away with a deep sense of profound respect and admiration for the difficult conditions under which they serve and the amazing power of the spirit of Christ that motivates them. Every time I am tempted to pity myself or feel less than motivated, their steadfast, loving service of Christ comes as a loving rebuke to me, and an encouragement to continue steadfast in the service of Jesus. God uses them to teach and train me, even while I am teaching and training them! Thank you for your partnership! Here are some highlights from this year so far.

A New Generation of Leadership!
Here they hone their skills in Christ-centered, grace-filled leadership. They learn the dangers of "lazy legalistic leadership." They learn how challenging it is to interpret the Scriptures faithfully. They learn careful reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit to empower them for preaching, and for their own people for change.

They are prayer warriors!
We gather together in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, relying on the power of prayer and faithful, humble exposition of the Scriptures, demonstrating and explaining Christ, so that they and their congregations can be built up in mighty faith to face the challenges of ministry in Reading.
