Food Pantry Needs
Our food pantry is in need of the following items to ensure that our families are supported with much needed items:
- Donate non-perishable food items
- Donate gift card(s) - King Soopers, Walmart, Safeway, etc
- Monetary donation to purchase gift cards or food items

Volunteers Needed for the Garden!
We are looking for volunteers for the spring and summer gardening season! Volunteers are an essential part of the garden community and we are looking forward to getting more student involvement.

Save the date: Girls on the Run is back!
Attention girls in grades 3-5: Girls on the Run is back! Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5pm (Meet in Ms. Fry's classroom Room 302). Practice begins on Tuesday, March 5th through Thursday, May 16th. Registration is $95/girl and includes registration in a 5K run (tentative date Sunday, 5/12 or Saturday, 5/18)

March Parent's Night Out
Please join our March Parent Night Out (PNO) on Friday, March 1st for 3 hours of babysitting by our Peru travelers. PNO is from 5-8pm; $20 for the first school-aged child and $5 for each additional family member. Consider joining our event. Please RSVP at http://signup.com/go/wAjjGRF

Girl Scout Cookie Sale
Highline's Brownie troop (2nd and 3rd graders) and the 5th grade Girl Scout troop will be selling their famous Girl Scout cookies on Friday, February 8th, February 15th and Thursday, February 14th on the walker grass after school. Don't miss out on supporting Highline's Girl Scouts!
Innovation Learning on Feb 18th (no school)
Innovation Learning is offering full-day programming on Monday, February 18th from 7am - 6pm. Please sign up via your parent portal by Thursday, February 14th to ensure Innovation Learning staff knows to prepare for your child. Breakfast and lunch are NOT provided, snacks are provided by Innovation Learning. Student drop-off and pick-up happen at the gym. The PWP presents our annual auction: Vegas Night
Please join us at the Highline Academy Auction at the Soiled Dove Underground on Saturday, March 9th at 6pm. This year's theme is Viva Las Vegas! Join us for drinks, dinner and a live auction followed by dancing.

Can't make it to the auction? Our silent auction will be online from March 4th - 8th at highlineacademy.ptapal.com . There is something for everyone! Please also watch out for communication from your student's room parent regarding classroom signups for wine, contributions for class experiences, and restaurant cards. We appreciate your support in helping make this annual auction a huge success!
The auction committee decided to try something different this year with our classroom creations/baskets. Instead of creating a basket of items, we are requesting a $5 minimum donation per child to create an experience. Below is a list of what we hope to accomplish with the monetary donations we receive. These donations can be left with the front desk
- Kindergarten: Personalized Blankets for each classroom.
- 1st & 2nd: Children’s Museum year-long membership and Denver Zoo year-long membership
- 3rd & 4th: The Broadmoor Hotel and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Passes
- 5th & 6th: Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort & Zipline Experience
- 7th & 8th: Union Station Crawford Hotel & Mercantile Restaurant Gift Card/Cooper Lounge/Snooze Gift Card

Pump and Dump Show fundraiser
Okay mamas – get ready for an epic night out to raise money for Highline! We’ve partnered with The Pump and Dump Show for its 7th Annual Mother’s Day Eve show + DANCE PARTY. This is truly a night out you do not want to miss, and a great opportunity for our community to hang out together AND raise money!
The Pump and Dump Show is a live, interactive theatrical production filled with all-original music, and comedy hailed as “The Best Moms’ Night Out Ever!”. Featured on The Today Show, People, Scary Mommy and Parents Magazine, comedians Shayna Ferm and Tracey Tee (a Highline mom!) are bringing their national, “Parentally Incorrect” tour to Denver for one night only on Mother’s Day Eve. You don’t want to miss this epic, annual tradition for Denver moms!
For every ticket purchased, The Pump and Dump Show will give $2 back to our school! Here’s what you need to do:

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Highline. Come in to the Chipotle at 7350 E Hampden Ave Unit B-2 in Denver on Tuesday, February 26th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in this flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to Highline!

Box Tops for Education is an easy way to help raise money for our school.
From Feb. 4-15 we will be collecting Box Tops in each homeroom. Please send your clipped box tops in with your child(ren) during this time.
The grade that collects the most Box Tops will win a dress down day on March 20. Please check Thursday folders for details.

2019-20 DPS School Choice
|

Just a reminder that you do not need to complete a DPS School Choice application if your child is returning to Highline next year. They will automatically roll into the next grade. You only need to complete an application if you would like your student to attend another DPS school or if they will be going into high school for the 2019-20 school year.
Is your student transitioning out of Highline next year? Do you have a sibling of a current student joining us next year? You must complete a DPS Round 1 lottery application. The DPS School Choice lottery enrollment for next year takes place between January 15th and February 15th. You must apply online at http://schoolchoice.dpsk12.org/ anytime between January 15th and February 15th, 2019 at 4 p.m. by ranking up to 12 school preferences. If you have a sibling of a current student joining us, please also let Heather Knight (hknight@highlineacademy.org) know so we can be aware of your application.
